Yoga for PCOD

Living with PCOD can affect more than just your physical health…it can also influence your stress levels, sleep, energy, and emotional well-being. In my own journey, yoga for PCOD became a meaningful part of my daily routine and helped me feel more balanced, calm, and connected with myself.

Yoga for PCOD: How My Yoga Journey Helped Me Find Balance

"The mind is the king of the senses, but the breath is the king of the mind." – B.K.S. Iyengar

Yoga for PCOS/PCOD

Have you ever felt like your mind and emotions are out of control no matter how hard you try? That’s exactly how I felt a few years ago.

My yoga journey became serious when My PCOD symptoms had become difficult to manage at a very young age. I had a lot of stress, acne, hair fall, sleepless nights, and no control over my thoughts or emotions. I would get angry easily, jump to conclusions, and feel like I had no stability in life.

I was not completely new to yoga , I had learnt it as a child , but this time I started again with a purpose. I began with small and easy gentle yoga poses that I found helpful during my PCOD journey and practiced them for 30 minutes every day without fail.

Changes I Noticed Through My Journey with PCOD and Yoga

Within a few weeks, I started seeing changes in my body and mind. My stress came down, my energy improved, and I felt lighter inside. Later, I added meditation and yoga nidra to my routine.

That’s when bigger changes started happening:

  • I stopped thinking negatively all the time.
  • My anger came under control.
  • I started listening to people fully before replying.
  • I stopped jumping to quick conclusions.
  • My sleep improved and my mind felt clear.

How Yoga Helped Me Manage Stress and Emotions

Some poses really helped me feel calm and relaxed:

1. Child’s Pose made me feel safe and grounded.

2. Reclined Bound Angle Pose helped me let go of stress.

3. Gentle backbends opened my chest and made my breathing deeper.

From Practicing Yoga to Becoming a Yoga Teacher

When I saw how much yoga changed my life, I wanted to learn more. I joined a yoga teacher training course to understand it better and deepen my own practice.

Now my aim is to help others know the importance of the mind-body connection and how yoga can bring both physical and emotional balance.

Tips for Starting Yoga with PCOD

  • Start with easy poses, especially if you are new or have health issues.
  • Practice every day, even if it’s just for 10–15 minutes.
  • Listen to your body and don’t push too hard.

For me, yoga started as a way to manage PCOD, but it gave me so much more - peace of mind, better health, and emotional stability. If you are going through a tough time, start small. Even a few minutes of yoga every day can slowly change your life.
